DOCUMENTATION AND CONDITION MAPPING OF MARHAN STATE HOUSE IN AYODHYA
The residence is located along the Chowk- Ayodhya Road in the very heart of the city of Ayodhya.
The building currently acts as a residence, for multiple families, as well as a Temple just like many other royal estates in the city. The residence displays a beautiful blend of muslim and hindu schools of architecture.
Architectural features visible on the Facade.
Interiors of the residence were very much in the original shape with beautiful arches and extensive stucco work along the walls.
The main wall of the temple is filled with stucco work which has been white washed overtime. The main worship chamber is accessible only for a limited time during the morning and evening.
GROUND FLOOR AND FIRST FLOOR PLAN
There is a parikrama route around the main chamber of the temple which is used and accessed by the devotees. Courtyard is surrounded by residential quarters on three sides and by a temple on the fourth side. A similar pattern seems to be followed along the first story of the building.
